Primarily correspondence between members of the Jones family of Winsted and Hartford, Connecticut, namely among Charles Bissell, Anna Henn Bissell, Edwin Pitkin Jones, Mary G. Coult Jones, Edward Payson Jones, Frances Isabelle Bronson Jones, Roderick Bissell Jones, Edward Payson Jones, Jr., and Esther Sherwood Jones. Includes letters from Roderick while on a tour of Europe in 1926, and letters between Frances Isabelle Bronson and Edward P. Jones and between Edward P. Jones Jr. (called Payson) and Esther Sherwood prior to their marriages. Also estate records of Roderick B. Jones who bequeathed some of his furniture to the Connecticut Historical Society in 1974.

Edward Payson Jones of Winsted, Connecticut, was born in Barkhamsted and attended local schools and the Williston Academy in East Hampton, Mass. He was chariman of the Conferece of Examining Boards of Embalmers of the United States and was also the first secretary of the State Board of Examiners of Embalmers.
